Collectorate

The Collectorate play a pivotal role in the District administration. District Magistrate / District Collector in the Cadre of I.A.S, heads the District. He is the representative of the state government& responsible for running the District smoothly and properly. Here the govt. comes into direct contact with the people.The role of the District administration practically covers a wide range and touches almost every area to maintain cordial, congenial and peaceful atmosphere in the District.

The functions and Responsibilities of District Magistrate may be broadly classified under three heads;

• As Collector for the collection of Revenue
• As Magistrate to maintain Law & Order
• As District officer representative of the govt to implement programs with the active co-operation of the people,coordinating with the departments in the district
